Randall K. Maxwell; Founder and CEO:
Greetings to All Visitors who have taken the time out of your busy schedule to stop by our website;
I want to first thank you for stopping by and checking us out! I feel it necessary to give you some background on myself and why I have been lead to begin such a company, so I choose to use this section of this site to share such background with you.
I began in this industry while in college my first tour of duty back many years ago. I began as an actor and was actually just taking drama classes in school as a course I knew I could get an “A” in so as to help keep up my grades so as not to get kicked out of school. It was during my first tour of college that my path crossed with a director and acting coach who felt I had a real talent as an actor and convinced me to go with her to NY City as she had just been offered the position of state manager at Radio City Music Hall. I took her up on her offer in 1978 and have continued in the entertainment industry since.
It was not long before I got on with a film company that took me to Wilmington NC by the late 70’s. It was there I became fascinated with the actual production of film from an artist standpoint and found how much impact film actually had on our culture. Unfortunately, then I was not so concerned with making a positive impact on our culture with film, but instead I got caught up in the glitz and glamour of the film industry as a whole. This industry has a very dark side which seemed to draw me in. It was not long before I was involved in all kinds of addictions and chasing wild and crazy women, which would soon become my whole reason for living.
Before going to NY with my director friend, and while still in college on my first tour of the college life I did actually feel a calling on my life to ministry, as I was actually brought up in the church, and my step father actually began the Nashville Rescue Mission in Nashville Tennessee, my mom began the women’s work there, so had a real call to home missions. Unfortunately, satan soon took me by the tail and convinced me that my real calling was to go to Hollywood, make millions in the film industry and give to home missions. It always amuses me how satan always uses part truths to get us off track. Unfortunately, though I did quite well in the film industry my Lord didn’t get much of the profits, let alone home missions or any missions for that matter, and most all the profits were instead distributed among the drug dealer, the liquor stores and amongst many wild and crazy women.
Also, while in college my first tour I had worked with my step father in his general insurance and real-estate company which also dealt with investments, such as stocks and bonds and securities. I had become quite sufficient in working with peoples investments, and once I was addicted to the film industry after going with my director friend to NY I began thinking, though the film industry was considered high risk investing, why not spread the risk among many investors who each contribute only small amounts, thus diversifying their portfolios and at the same time have the opportunity for a large return. This became my platform and niche in the film industry. Back in late 70’s and early 80’s I began raising seed money to develop film from infancy until we could get a major film deal or either distribute straight to video through our own distribution company. (You are welcome to see my resume on this site)
The above description is a lifestyle I enjoyed for 20+ years. Then during the latter part of the 90’s my Lord began calling me to ministry once again, or at least I began hearing HIS voice once again. All of the sudden I felt a real compelling to begin taking care of the less fortunate of our world. It was during this time I became involved with Hope Retreats International in LA California and the LA mission. I began studying ministry part time and even began some counseling at both Hope Retreats in LA and the LA mission, but I was still very much in love with my then current lifestyle and didn’t want to give it up. This went on about four or five years, trying to serve both God and myself, and then I had an opportunity to open a branch office of the company I worked for back in my home town of Nashville, Tennessee. This appealed to me at the time as my mother had already suffered a massive stroke, and was recovering, so this gave me an opportunity to be close to her and perhaps develop a close relationship we never had a chance to before.
Shortly after arriving in Nashville, still trying to serve both God and myself it became apparent that God had enough, I suffered a complete nervous breakdown to make a very long story short. Though this seemed to everyone around me, including myself at first, to be the greatest travesty of my life, as God would have it, it turned out to be the most wonderful thing that could have happened to me, as for the first time in my life I had slowed down enough to actually hear the voice of my Lord. It was during a 33 day stay in the hospital that my wonderful Lord began revealing to me His perfect will for the rest of my life, and looking back now I guess this was but the very beginning of the vision of this company I am talking about now.
Though at the time I was totally convinced by the power and presence of the Holy Spirit of God that I was done in the entertainment industry, and that I would spend the rest of my life as a servant of Christ in His ministry, working in international mission work, I know now this was the beginning of this company I am here sharing today. After my 33 days in the hospital, and after many visions and revelations given me by God I entered a recovery program at the Nashville Rescue Mission that my step father had begun many years earlier, as I realized now I had become a complete addict. During this six month recovery program there were many more visions and revelations given me by God, and I continued to study ministry, and was actually ordained as a minister for Hope Retreats International. (Please see the vision found at the website for Hope Retreats International at www.hoperetreatsinternational.org)
My first ministry assignment with Hope Retreats International was to open a retreat in Lewiston Maine. This particular retreat catered to young men with addiction problems as well as battered and abused women. Soon after I arrived in Lewiston and had begun this ministry, because of old lifestyle choices I experienced many serious health issues, trying to keep this very long story as short for my reader as possible, just a couple of my health issues were cancer and Hep “B” and “C”. Things were so bad I even purchased my cemetery plots to give you an idea, as doctors didn’t give me long to even live. Because I was basically bed ridden myself, I spent much time with the residents of this recovery program I had begun as they went through detox. So, we spent a lot of time together watching films at the retreat. It was during this time I realized that there is much theology in most all films, and many films had redemptive qualities. My Lord began teaching me how I might teach the principles of His KINGDOM through film. I began to realize how film entered a person I had been unable to reach with my preaching or teaching, and it finally dawned on me how strong a media film was to reach the sub-conscious mind and effect the viewer either good or bad. I guess it was then that my Lord began laying the foundation of this company in my mind, but I was a long way of realizing it.
My Lord kept me down just long enough to minister to me His will and His ways for my life, and continued sharing His plans for the rest of my life. It seems strange to me now looking back, but my life had become not important to me at all, but my relationship to my Lord was what I lived for. It mattered not to me whether I lived or died, as long as I had totally abandoned myself to His will and His ways for me, I was totally His to use in any way He saw fit. I found the more and more I lived like this, the happier I became. He had shown me personally the life free of fear and worry, the life full of nothing but joy and happiness all the time. Now I lived only to teach others how to find this life, and it is basically found in total abandonment of self to Him.
I continued to grow spiritually, as well as physically! I had already enrolled at Trinity Bible College and Seminary, and was beginning to really grow as well in knowledge of Scripture. I had been in treatment for cancer and Hep “B” and “C” and on June 30, 2001 I was pronounced in remission for both. It was about this time I had the opportunity to open a retreat for the ministry back in my home town of Nashville Tennessee. During my time of recovery I had been shown by the Spirit, and called by this ministry, because of the position this ministry gave to me to continue my education. It became apparent to me, by the guidance of the Spirit to not only pursue my education in Pastorate ministry with emphasis in counseling but also to pursue my education in mass communication so that I could one day teach what I had spent a lifetime in, that is the production of films and television, so as I would not have to take funds out of the ministry I had been called for my own living, but to also have an opportunity to reach the youth who are attracted to the film industry before they become entrenched in the corruption of the industry, in hopes I might lead them to use their God given talents to produce films to bring God glory as opposed to films that are affecting our culture so negatively.
Upon arrival back in Nashville I enrolled in Tennessee State University in their mass communications program to finish up my bachelors degree in mass communications, while at the same time finishing up my masters in pastorate ministry from Trinity Bible College and Seminary.
Today, I have completed my masters at Trinity Bible College and Seminary in pastorate ministry, with emphasis in counseling and now studying my Ph. D in the same. I have also finished up my bachelors degree at Tennessee State University and my MFA in Cinema Television on the script writing track at Regent University at Virginia Beach Virginia. While in Virginia Beach the ministry has me also opening a retreat to work with troubled youth in this area, with primary concern with the gang problem in the whole Tidewater area.
I tell you all this which I have stated on this site about myself as a personal testimony to the greatness of the God whom I serve. He has shown me redemption, and this same redemption is available to anyone who is interested. I also say all this in hopes to convey that this whole company is God sent with a mission, not just a company I think would be a cool idea in hopes of making millions of dollars in the film industry, but a company I feel with all my heart might make a difference in our culture by taking this once great nation back to God, by showing the magnificence of the Love that God has for a hurting world, and the redemption available to us all from the fallen nature of mankind, so that a watching world might want to follow my Lord through this powerful media known as film and television productions. I want my reader to realize, though I know my words here are inadequate, that this company is ordained by the living God through Jesus Christ.
